Well Melvin told me that her wife actually hiked up Kawah Ijen and Mt.Bromo, Indonesia with him for sunrise during her pregnancy! Oh by the way Kawah Ijen is a Volcano that stands at 8,660ft tall and for sunrise viewing, you need to start hiking at 4am!

Nikon unveiled its first lightweight mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras on Wednesday, saying the two new models would go on sale in October and that it expects them to be priced around 70,000 yen ($915)and 105,000 yen.

Nikon, which along with Canon dominates the lucrative global market for interchangeable lens cameras, has beaten its archrival to the launch of a more compact version.

Mirrorless cameras pack many of the capabilities of a professional-style single-lens reflex model into a smaller body by cutting out bulky mirrors.

Bukit Broga, or Broga Hill, is located near Semenyih, about 40 minutes away from Kuala Lumpur. Its real name is Bukit Lalang, refering to the thin and long species of local grass that grows abundantly on this hill. It can be reached a short distance after the University of Nottingham, where the entrance trail starts from an oil palm estate facing a rabbit park across the road.

During the mornings, mist rising from the ground from the warmth of the sun envelop the landscape in a carpet of white, providing a surreal atmosphere. This is why most hikers come up during the early mornings and wait for the sunrise to catch the breath taking view. The hike itself is relatively easy, taking between 20-45 minutes to reach the highest peak depending on how fit you are. There are a few steep ascents, but nothing to hard to conquer.

There are three peaks in total, each one ascends above the other through a clear path fringed by the tall grass at each side. The trails are well marked and trodden, so it's pretty hard to get lost or even lose sight of the way. The best times to climb Broga Hill is during the weekdays, as weekends will see a huge glut of hikers clogging the various peaks.

Meromictic lake @ Kerachut Beach (Penang), This is a unique lake that can be found only in Penang National Park in Malaysia. As a matter of fact, the lake is only available at 19 places around the world.

'Meromictic' refers to the two layers of sea and river water is which does not mix with each other. Fresh water is relatively lower in density as compared to the hypersaline sea water. This lake is covering an area of 2.77km square with a maximum depth of 9 feet. In full capacity, the lake can provide water of 2,500 household for one year.

Twilight was not tat awesome but we (Victor Tong , Aaron Tan ,Ivan Ng) had a great fun at the lake & beach .. the best part was the boat ride to this Kerachut beach ... A great place for camping and worth visiting cause its only 1 in Malaysia and only 19 places around the world .. Btw u can swim in this lake .. !!

How to install Installous ??

First of all your iDevice should be jailbroken on iOS 4.3.3.

Now launch Cydia on your jailbroken iDevice.

Tap on “Manage”, then tap on the “Sources” and add http://cydia.hackulo.us address in field and tap on “Add Source” button.

Now Cydia will update its repo list. Once it done, tap on the Search tab at the bottom and type Installous in the search field.

Now select the Installous 4.4.2 from the search result and install it on yoru iDevice. Once installation is complete, reboot your iDevice.

That’s all! Installous 4.4.2 is successfully installed to enjoy any app free from the App Store.

A: In this initial release, the following configurations are supported:

A: jbme3.0 is entirely userland-based, from start to finish. The A5 chip in the iPad2 has no iBoot or bootrom-level exploits yet, so tools like redsn0w, PwnageTool and sn0wbreeze can’t use the limera1n bootrom exploit to inject the jailbreak. Even for those devices where limera1n works, jbme3.0 injects the jailbreak with a userland exploit.

Q: If I’m already jailbroken on the latest firmware, is there any advantage to jailbreaking again?
A: No, but you should consider showing this to your friends! Spread the jailbreaking fever.

Q: Are the holes exploited by jbme3.0 closed in iOS5?
A: The holes still exist in the iOS5 betas, but they’ll almost certainly be fixed by the time iOS5 is public. However because the iPad2 had no public jailbreak yet, it probably wasn’t worth waiting until the fall to use them. If history repeats itself though, there will be more holes and exploits.

Q: Will I permanently lose the jailbreak if I need to restore my device?
A: For all except the iPad2, saving your SHSH blobs should let you always restore your device to iOS versions where this jailbreak works. The iPad2 is a little more complicated. If you have a wifi-only iPad2 and saved SHSH blobs, you’re in good shape. But if you have the GSM or CDMA iPad2, you won’t be able to restore to 4.3.3 or lower once Apple stops signing its baseband. There are a few ideas that might work to get around this limitation, but for now it’s best to assume there’s no going back to 4.3.3 once 4.3.4 is out for iPad2 GSM or CDMA owners.

Q: I heard this new unionfs stuff is dangerous?
A: Define dangerous :) Seriously though, although unionfs is a huge improvement to the install time of the jailbreak, it is brand new code and there is the possibility something will go wrong. Just keep regular backups of your media and content and you should be fine. If there are any problems, they should appear within the first few days, so hold off and let “everyone else” test the waters if you’d like.

Foreign Maid Dies in Malaysia, Abuse Suspected

Monday, June 6th, 2011

Malaysia's state news agency is reporting the death of a foreign maid who is believed to have been abused by her employers.

The Bernama news agency reported Monday that the maid, who was identified only as coming from a neighboring country, died in a Kuala Lumpur hospital Sunday. The death comes less than a week after Indonesia agreed to end a two-year ban on allowing maids to work in Malaysia because of reported abuse cases.

Bernama said the maid who died Sunday had injuries to her forehead and arms as well as scratch marks on her back. It quoted police saying an autopsy also found old wounds on her body.

The agency said the victim was brought to the hospital by a married couple in their 50s. It said the couple has been detained by police and will be remanded until June 11.

Malaysia is one of Asia's largest importers of domestic workers, with many of them coming from Indonesia even while the ban was in place.

Morning !! 4.20am now @ seven star mamak at bkt Kayu Hitam. Very nearby to Thailand. Estimation 37 km frm here to reach custom. According to our news frm friends, custom is open at 6am. Btw, the roti canai is good here!!!

Now is 5.30am !! Got to wait fr 6am fr custom to open... We r quite lost on wht next but we manage to collect information nearby to proceed our adventure to reach our destination.

Digi network is quite poor compare to maxis. Can't get 3G lots of places. I can't check in 4square !??

TOKYO - A magnitude-6.5 earthquake shook eastern Japan off the quake-ravaged coast this morning, the United States Geological Survey reported, prompting Japan to issue a tsunami alert.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries, but the Japan Meteorological Agency announced that a relatiely small tsunami of up to 0.5m may wash into Miyagi Prefecture.

The alert was prompted by a quake that the US Geological Survey measured at 7.23am Japan time (6.23am Singapore time) near the east coast of Honshu.

The USGS said the quake was 5.9km deep, and struck near the Miyagi prefecture.

This follows the magnitude-9 quake off Japan's north-east coast on March 11 triggered a tsunami that barrelled onshore, triggering a humanitarian disaster that has killed and left homeless thousands of people.

Radio stations have agreed to not play the track in full due it's pro-gay lyrics.

An indecipherable noise has instead been placed over the lyrics which were said to be "offensive" to the religious beliefs of Malaysia.

One of the lyrics to have been omitted is: "No matter gay, straight or bi, lesbian, transgendered life, I'm on the right track baby."

Amp Radio spoke to the Associated Press about the censorship.

"The particular lyrics in 'Born This Way' may be considered as offensive when viewed against Malaysia's social and religious observances."

"The issue of being gay, lesbian or [bisexual] is still considered as a 'taboo' by general Malaysians."

Pan Khee Teik, a gay rights activist from Malaysia, has criticised the move, stating the radio stations should act as "a platform for marginalised voices and create understanding - not perpetuate ignorance and hate".

Teik added: "Lady Gaga was attempting to address this very thing in her song. How dare they play that song and cut out its shining heart?"

My Adventure to Sungai penerok starts from above picture .... image kind of blur because lazy to use tripod ... actually saw tis beautiful place because i stop fr a toilet break ... i was kind of lost due to my miss Garmin GPS bought me here. she bring me to a short cut road which bring me into a muddy & rotten road. it was a bumpy ride .... btw, my real destination is to KUKUP.

another shot taken nearby 1st picture. tis is the kind of road my miss Garmin bought me ... my time now is around 6.30pm and its too late to reach my destination Kukup for sunset !! so i decided to camp here fr a shot till sunset (lukcy i bought a compass, cause i dnt have iphone) .... unfortunally, big dark clouds came by ... so i decided to move on my journey out frm tis bumpy road.

then i saw a road sign to Sungai penerok around 15 min out frm the bumpy road. the lights is beautiful frm tat direction ... i make a U-turn and head to this sungai (river). Gosh .... its really beautiful since all my shot in johor, tis is the best twilights i see... !! 1st i was shooting above a bridge ... !! then i was waiting fr the lights to light the river towards me .... seems impossible and i run all the way around 200m to this boat !!

lucky a friendly fisherman allowed me to aboard the boat ... they are actually opposite the river !! i think they stay there ... !!

i was too greedy fr the lights and decided to jump into the water ... lucky i try with 1 leg before my whole body !! i was muddy and deep ... fisherman told me not to go inside the water with a warning !! thanks to them, i was save and ended up muddy for 1 whole leg !!

then i run back again to the bridge to take pix again .... it was tiring running up and down and also with a muddy leg ... !!!

above pix was unedited !! and not clear due to no tripod with me !! i was testing ..

so all pix is without any filter !! no time to setup up !!

Those living in the Klang Valley would have definitely heard of Kluang Station Coffee. However, Kluang Station Coffee is not a branch of Kluang Rail Coffee but its history can be traced back to Kluang Rail Coffee

this shop is really located at the railway station at kluang. It started his biz here since 1938. the coffee is good here .

Crossing the bridge noodles is a kind of rice noodle soup from Yunnan province, China. It is one of the most common dishes in Yunnan cuisine. I was here at this YUN NAM CAFE @ JB near austin heights to try tis. It was introduce by the waitress. It cost RM16.00 per bowl, kind of expensive but worth trying for a taste.

he bridge-crossing noodle's origins are uncertain. One likely theory is that it originates from a bridge in southern Yunnan in Mengzi County, where there is a rice vermicelli tradition at least 100 years old.

Another explication is in the following story; A scholar was studying hard for his imperial exams. A large earthen pot was loaded individually with pig bone or chicken soup. Noodles and other ingredients were kept in another container. When his wife combined them just before eating, they became a nutritious bowl of steaming noodles. This was thought to have two advantages: a thin film would form on the surface of the soup, keeping it warm, and eating became more efficient because the noodles and soup were together. POPULAR Hong Kong actor-singer Raymond Lam admitted that he was the one sleeping beside Taiwanese model Pan Shuang Shuang in photos published by a Hong Kong magazine, Sin Chew Daily reported.

The photos were exposed by the magazine recently and Lam admitted that he was previously in a relationship with Pan.

It was learnt that Pan shot the photos while Lam was sleeping.

No Pants Day @ taiwan. Girls go pant-less on Taiwan subway. First in New York, then in Chicago, and now it seems 'No Pants Day' has hit Asian shores as young Taiwanese girls decided to go pant-less for one day, and ride the subway in their panties.

The no-pants subway ride is annual event first started in New York City, by Improv Everywhere - a comedic performance art group which carries out pranks or 'missions' in public places to celebrate silliness.

Kluang Clock Tower @ Johor

The name Kluang comes from the Malay word keluang, which means a type of flying fox or rather a type of fruit bat. Alas, the critters have almost completely disappeared, and some suspect that the town was named after two mountains that resemble the head and wing respectively of a bat from a distance.

a visit to kluang while working at johor. I supposed to go to Tasik Sembrong for sunset pictures but it doesnt work out. Tasik Sembrong (new name) also know as Tasik Manong at KLUANG. A place to watch sunset if the guard let you in. This is a dam area & belongs to the m'sia government. the view fr sunset was the other side, so if the guard let you in, it's awesome.

location : Next to Kem PLKN Sembrong. if frm PLUS expressway, exit at Ayer Hitam.

according to the guard, you can see a very large full moon on the rite side of above pix.

i think tis place can take star trail if the sky is clear .. cause its kind of high here & windy.

Being extremely lazy on the keyboards, I would say that I have not succeeded in any of my previous blogs…well everyone has got resolutions for the new year…and mine, is to have at least an ongoing and “active” blog on my photography..

It’s been 2 years since I got my first DSLR (Canon EOS 40D)and had upgraded to the 5DMK2 now. Photography has now became a serious chapter in my life and this is where I hope to share my journey with the world, my journey to record the beautiful lights and scape that mother nature has got to show.

The image shown above is one of my final clicks for year 2010, it was taken at a new found lake in Puchong, Malaysia, named it after the founder of the lake (Alex). As for now we will see if I can last till my next final click of year 2011.

My schedule was pretty packed for the past few days, attended one of the conference that has got nothing to do with landscape photography, well…maybe a little…anyway it was the 1st Creative Asia Conference held in Malaysia and I got to meet Joe McNally, Mike Langford, Michael Greenberg, Manny Librodo, Jason Magbanua, Daniel Capobianco and our local wedding photographer’s hero Mr. Louis Pang…just to mention a few of those “big names” in the industry…kinda going way off topic here am i?? LOL

Back to my landscape story, this is another shot from one of the many hidden beaches in Muar, a very surprising yet lucky find cause initially we planned to head back to Seri Menanti but to our dismay the tides was like before very low, without much thought we explored to other nearby location and ended up here in Pantai Ria.

Why the title? Sneezing Landscape? well it’s pretty funny when we were shooting with a bad flu, with all the sneezing and coughing I ended up with tissues stuck to my nostrils, some creative white foreground (O.o)!…it just kinda spoil the whole ambient of the beautiful surrounding, but guess I did some justice to it as I find this image here kinda peaceful and at least you do not need to bear with all the AHchoooo and Achewwwssss.

Feb 23 2011 : Chingay Festival 2011 @ johor. The Chingay Parade is special to the New Year festivities. The word comes from the Chinese language and means a decorated miniature stage or float.

The night scene in Johor Bahru will come alive again tomorrow when some 300,000 people are expected to line the main streets of the city to watch the annual chingay procession.

Annual street parade, showcasing local and foreign cultural performing groups.
The Johor Bahru Chingay Parade is an annual event where seven dieties from the various Malaysian chinese clans shall ‘tour’ the city central business district accompanied by dragon and lion dancetroupes, participants dressing in fairly tale characters’ costumes, colourful floats among others. Thousands of local and foreign spectators and devotees are expected to line the streets to witness the unique event and for many locals it is a time to also seek blessings from the touring dieties.

“The Jalan Ulu Air Molek stretch, which is the starting point of the procession will be closed from 5pm.

“Jalan Yahya Awal via Jalan Lingkaran Dalam junction will be closed from 6pm,” he said.

“The procession will begin at 7pm where some 100,000 visitors are expected to turn up.

“Spectators will be mesmerised by the grand floats with rabbits theme in line with the Year of the Rabbit,” he said.

Ku added that one of the highlights of the night would be unique dragon dances such as machine dragon, festive dragon as well as Teochew lantern performances from China.

Was originally shot as a demo reel for a feature-length script... now completely reedited to become a trailer with additional footage and faster cuts.

Cameras used were the Canon HV20 and Canon 5D Mark II.

Spent a day's shoot for the actors on cheap rented greenscreen equipment with practically no crew. Followed by 3 to 4 months of heavy/ arduous Post work for the visual effects... and designs, all made up from my geeky imagination and sheer love for science fiction and fantasy.

Work was done in Full HD which resulted in substantially longer rendering times but what the heck. =)

SYNOPSIS:

The distant future -- set in South East Asia. Global-Warming has struck and consumed all lowlands. The millions of displaced survivors now reside in a massive island city. With the overwhelming death-rate of skin cancer, the governments of the island have embedded every individual with an enhanced neurochip to survive the sun's deadly rays. Adequate but not perfect.

The 6 Chief Scientists who developed it, promise in the coming years, an improved neurochip-update, a cure that finally gives complete immunity to the sun. As they near the final stages, two veteran agents are called in to investigate a startling death threat from an elusive terrorist group who vow to assassinate all the chief scientists for reasons unknown. As the murders ensue, one by one, committed by random unrelated individuals and even by suicide, the two officers race to uncover the backstory behind the group and their apparent link to the chief scientists themselves, which ultimately leads to the discovery that the actual culprit may not even be human... and the promised cure is all but a mere ploy for an even bigger conspiracy... that could spell the doom for everyone on the island itself.

MALAYSIAN actress Christy Yow has begun her get-to-know-you session with her new friend - a three-metre yellow python.

The 22-year-old Yow, whose nickname is Malaysian Giant Breast, will play the legendary striptease Rose Chan in her new movie Mei Gui Xiang (The Charming Rose).

The python-wrestling show was one of the highlights in Rose Chan’s performances.

The movie is scheduled to start filming next year and Yow makes use of her free time now to get close to her “partner” to ensure a smooth shooting.

China Press reported that the four-hour session took place in Singapore last week.

“Its breathing sound is loud and its slimy body is rubbing all over my face....

“It is really heavy and I take it as a scarf when the snake coils around my neck,’’ said Yow when describing her up close and personal session with the 9kg python.

She said she was freaked out at the beginning but had overcome the feeling after warming up to the snake.

Yow said she was hurt by some of her friends and relatives who had condemned her for acting in an erotic film.

“Mei Gui Xiang is an international artistic film directed by Eric Khoo, not just selling sex.

"I must prove that I can do it and I swear I will do to the best,’’ she said.

Khoo, 44, is a Singaporean director. Among his films that had participated at the Cannes Film Festival were 12 Storeys, Be With Me and Mee Pok Man.

According to the snake trainer, the yellow python was worth a whooping S$70,000.

The trainer, who had an encounter with the real Rose Chan when he was 12, said he was taken in by her bravery.

He said Chan had described a big python he showed her as “sap sap sui” (kids’ stuff) and the striptese queen even invited him to see those snakes she kept at her home.

Multi ministry camera ban frustrates artists by Kuwait TIMES

KUWAIT: After the ban three ministries placed on photography, most Kuwaiti youth are a bit confused about what to do with their cameras if they can't use them in public and why such laws were implemented in the first place. The Ministry of Information, Ministry of Social Affairs and Ministry of Finance recently came to the conclusion that photography should be used for journalism purposes only. This has resulted in the ban of Digital Single Lens Reflex Cameras (DSLRs) in public, on the streets and in malls
.

What most Kuwaiti photographers have come to wonder is how such a decision could be reached by authorities, especially considering that digital cameras and cell phone cameras have the same abilities. What most people think of photography as a hobby has become a bit misguided due to the fact that the country has so little exposure to art. While using a DSLR, passersby may wonder if the camera is being used for the wrong reasons.

Mohammed Al-Eisa, who picked up photography as a hobby more than 10 years ago, said that he has decided to take photos of animals or still life due to the fact that these subjects don't mind having their picture taken and don't make a scene. "I started facing problems the very first day I bought my camera," Mohammed added.

What often happens is that a big black camera tends to worry people. Taking a picture of a stranger would seem like much less of an issue if you were using a more discreet camera or even a cell phone. Mariam Al-Fodiry said that she has faced similar problems with her hobby and that being a girl doesn't help at all. She said that in some cases it makes the problem even worse. "Switching to abstract and landscape photography was one the options I considered after getting into enough trouble," Mariam said.

Majed Al-Saqer said that sometimes people stop him while he is in his car with his camera, as if he were planning to kill someone with it. He said that he isn't sure what the real problem is, whether it is people taking photos of each other or the size of the camera.

The Walking Dead is a monthly black-and-white American comic book series published by Image Comics beginning in 2003. The comic was created by writer Robert Kirkman and artist Tony Moore, who was replaced by Charlie Adlard from issue #7 onward,although Moore continued to do the covers through issue #24.

The story chronicles the travels of a group of people trying to survive in a world stricken by a zombie apocalypse.
